The 1st of September 2004 saw myself and Plaxtongeezer head over to Manchester to witness the departure of the massive Antonov AN-22 cargo aircraft. It had been chartered from the Antonov Design Bureau by First Choice to take out a new engine to Lanzarote to a stricken aircraft, the previous days arrival saw it bring the poorly engine home.
The mighty bird has large contra-rotating propellors as can be clearly seen and is a wonderful example of engineering from the C.C.C.P era.
This was its first visit to MAN and has never been back since.

Not a ding involving the Transit and the Police car.
The Transit carries engineers who have a large stick with a 'V' attachment on the end, and they use this to lift up phone lines if they hang too low for the boat to get through. And no, thats not a wind up.
